MOTO MUSIC MAYHEM ARTIST & ATHLETE INFORMATION

SOCIAL DISTORTION
Mike Ness and Social Distortion set themselves apart from the slew of punk bands to emerge from Los Angeles during the early 1980s with the release of Mommy's Little Monster – it is regarded as a landmark west coast punk album, joining the company of the Germs' (GI) and X's Los Angeles. This debut is one's of punk rock's most articulate manifestos – with it, Social Distortion established themselves as spokespersons for modern day rebels without a cause. They have since enjoyed chart success and major label affiliation while still maintaining their integrity. They were listed at #27 on KROQ’s 106.7 Biggest KROQ Bands Of All Time on the influential music station’s last comprehensive poll in 2002 – a position higher than notable bands such as Jane’s Addiction, The Clash, and The Ramones. Their appearance at Moto Music Mayhem coincides with their highly anticipated new LP scheduled for an August release date.

PENNYWISE
Pennywise songs are the punk rock equivalent to football pep-rallies - spirited, rousing, rally-round-the-flag exhortations for surf punks, skate punks, and their ilk. Their harmonic, sing-along choruses are infectious, and the sheer headlong velocity of their playing will have your adrenaline racing. Playing the catchiest of punk rock anthems, Pennywise are purveyors of quality hardcore for the young, suburban masses. Also a KROQ favorite, they were listed at #45 on KROQ’s 106.7 Biggest KROQ Bands Of All Time – charting higher than notable artists such as Beck, The Sex Pistols, and X.

A STATIC LULLABY
When you think of Chino, California, the first thing that often comes to mind is Chino State Penitentiary, a hulking slab of concrete and steel that holds within its walls some of the most dangerous criminals the Golden State has to offer. Standing in sharp contrast to that is the town of Chino Hills, a small slice of Orange County suburbia situated in the shadow of this man-made monstrosity -- this is where A Static Lullaby call home. Creating a musical fortress as imposing as the aforementioned edifice, their music is seemingly impenetrable at first listen - but filled with an underlying humanity. Building upon searing guitar riffs that stutter and tear, their songs quickly shift into choruses that are as sensual as they are abrasive. A standout within the current emo-hardcore genre embraced by today’s youth, and the word has already spread.

KOTTONMOUTH KINGS
Hailing from the sunny suburban realm of Orange County, California, Kottonmouth Kings deliver catchy “rapcore” detailing their party-hearty lifestyles. Their music combines elements of funk, metal, reggae, punk and ska and are commonly known as the musical act the freestyle motocross community endears itself to.

BRIAN DEEGAN
The leader of the Metal Mulisha, Deegan has more Winter X and X Games medals than any other Moto X competitor. He has a total of nine, two of which are gold. At X Games '03 he won Best Trick with the Mulisha Twist (an off-axis 360). After sitting out Winter X '03 because of a separated left shoulder, the newly married Deegan crashed while attempting the Mulisha Twist on his preliminary run at Winter X ‘04. His 95’ drop onto the hard ice proved to be the “highlight” of the Games, where he broke his femur, both wrists and lost two pints of blood. This spectacular crash and the many soaring highs in his career thus far is a product of Deegan’s fearless attitude – securing him in the annals of Moto X as well as action sports history. The mastermind of the Metal Mulisha states, "The Mulisha was formed because motocross has turned absolutely (soft) because of all these… factory geeks. We pretty much had to form the Metal Mulisha to bring back the old school attitude of dirtbikes.” A true competitor, with legions of fans who recognize him as such. Among Deegan’s many sponsors are Jesse James and West Coast Choppers. He rides a Jesse James custom bike in competition.

SETH ENSLOW
Upon his arrival in Huntington Beach, Seth met up with Dana Nicholson of Fleshwound Films and immediately became part of the "motorcycle crew". After his enormous, infamous, groundbreaking crash in Crusty Demons of Dirt, Seth became an instant hero among the youths of motocross. Seth ventured out and began filming and riding with the other motocross film makers and established his name with huge jumps, horrific wrecks and beautiful women. Seth is revered for breaking Robbie Knievel's long distance jump record of 226 feet. In another spectacular crash, his motorcycle broke in half upon landing and Seth rolled to the ground in presumed defeat. To the crowds’ amazement, Seth jumped up, flashed the crowd his vibrant smile and began signing autographs. A true hero in every sense of the word.

RONNIE FAISST
Learning the backflip in 2003 was a huge boost to Faisst's career -- he ended up winning the Big Air event at the WFA Randall's Island event in July last year. Faisst, also known as “Kung Fu”, is a Gravity Games medallist and is a regular on Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Huck Jam tour. Faisst’s popularity can be measured by his double-page advertisement for Split Clothing in the July Transworld MX magazine as well as the recent release of his own video.

JEREMY “TWITCH” STENBERG
"Twitch" emerged as the king of Step Up, when in four qualifying events during 2001, Stenberg earned three wins and a second place. He also busted out big at the LG Action Sports Championship in November 2003, where he placed second to Nate Adams. Now elevating his game to include a no-handed backflip, he is a serious medal contender for X Games ’04 in Los Angeles. Twitch was also the main stunt rider in the Hollywood blockbuster XXX starring Vin Diesel. “I had to make him look cool,” Twitch told FHM magazine. In one scene, Twitch jumped over a barn with 300 gallons of propane exploding underneath him, then jumped off that landing to another drop-off. Pretty gnarly.

JEFF “OX” KARGOLA
One of the biggest riders in Moto X at 6'3", 220 lbs., as well as one of the youngest at 20, Ox learned the backflip in November 2003, and says, "Now they're super easy." Ox spends most of his time traveling the world to put on demos. He competed in the X Games in Philly performing his signature "Oxecutioner", but ended up finishing poorly when he crashed trying to land it with no hands and bent his handlebars. Paying your dues in this sport involves much pain, but many respected Moto X insiders believe Ox to now have the goods to bring his game to the next level. A new star in Moto X appears ready to shine.
